Fespa, 24 – 27 May 2011

Continuous flatbed thanks to automatic panel transport
Impala and Oryx feature a novel transport method for advancing oversize media over the printing table and positioning it in exact register with a redefined zero origin. The new technique is more efficient and even more precise than the conventional method employed in swissQprint’s optional hybrid feed principle. Either approach is capable of printing sizes up to an impressive 2.5 x 4 metres. And with the new transport system, printers who do not otherwise use rolled media can economise by not investing in the roll option.

Primer for direct printing onto glass
Glass and metal are widely used materials for interior decoration and also in product design. Moreover, there is growing demand for individualised designs. So craftsmen and graphics businesses face a challenge: how to realise their customers’ high-flying artwork as economically as possible. Against this background, the swissQprint developers are opening doors with their special primer: right after application to the surface, the design proper can be overprinted using the standard inkjet inks. The primer and the printed design bond permanently to the substrate, without any need for post-treatment such as baking or fixing.

Next to the standard CMYK, there are an additional five channels on Impala, 4 on Oryx, one of which can optionally be set up to use the primer. That makes it easy for printers to extend their service offering, which can range from applications in furniture, exhibition stand construction, shop fitting and interior work, through restaurant/catering facilities and glass partition walls, to gaming machines and designer mirrors.

In addition to primer, the additional channels can also accommodate varnishes, spot colours, white or light ink shades. Photographers, for example, appreciate a light black for printing monochrome images with true photographic depth and quality. Light cyan/light magenta are the preferred choices for highest-quality rendering of fine skin tones and areas of homogenous colour. Consequently, both Oryx and Impala stand out not only for their strong versatility, but high process stability as well.

swissQprint is a young Swiss company that is stirring up the marketplace with new developments and refinements to existing ones. swissQprint is making strides to becoming a driver of innovation in its specialist niche of inkjet technology.

Further information
swissQprint AG
Espenstrasse 135
CH-9443 Widnau
Telephone 071 727 11 90
Telefax 071 727 11 91
office@swissqprint.com
www.swissqprint.com

Picture captions
Impala Family (Download Image)
Impala – a multitalented inkjet printer made in Switzerland, with 9 ink channels, record-breaking productivity, and impressive precision.

Impala Flatbed (Download Image)
Revolutionary: swissQprint’s exclusive primer enables designs to be printed onto glass and metal with inkjet technology.

Pictures: swissQprint

100th Machine Sold

swissQprint quickly made a name for itself following the launch of its ingenious Oryx hybrid inkjet system in 2008. This high-end printing machine can cope with virtually every challenge, from conventional panels and roll stock with widely differing properties through to oversize media measuring 2.5 x 4 meters. The system also offers remarkable precision − and yet the space it requires is relatively modest.

swissQprint premiered a new model at the 2010 Fespa: the Multitalent Impala, with a CMYK standard that can be extended by up to five additional colour channels. Thanks to special inks with exceptional adhesive properties, inkjet printing is even possible on aluminium and glass. So with one single machine, printing professionals can now offer a vast range of services that will put them well ahead of the competition. And last but not least: the Impala holds the record for printing speed in its category, making it a byword for cost-effective operation.

Both systems are convincingly versatile, robust and reliable. swissQprint's satisfied customers include specialist graphic firms as well as industrial corporations. The word has spread around: printing machines from swissQprint are an investment that very quickly pays dividends.

The great thing about swissQprint

The great thing about swissQprint is that instead of building different machines with "fixed" features for different needs (i e super high resolution, white ink, 6 colors, varnish, etc.) they created the Oryx. The Oryx is like the iPhone of large format printers! It is more than just great engineering, it is a platform that enables us to have everything we want and yet use only the features we need for each individual print job.
The new High speed feature that doubles production speed is a perfect proof of that. We of course want that new feature - So... We don't have to buy a new printer - we just add the new application to our existing machine. Just like I add new applications to my iPhone...
But the real amazing thing - It has now been 6 month since we installed it and we have not had even one production problem!"

Dov Gatmon
Owner of Mediagården, Sweden
