Impala a multi-talented inkjet
Impala. A new premium inkjet system for the graphic industry and demanding industrial customers will be launched in autumn 2010. Universal and modular, Impala is future-oriented and multi-talented when it comes to applications. It is robust, works with exceeding precision and delivers outstanding print quality – because Impala is Swiss-made through and through. In speed terms, it powers far ahead of hitherto existing standards in its league.
Versatile and robust, Impala is a flatbed printing system that is expandable as required. For example, the standard CMYK may be supplemented by as many as five additional channels – including effect varnish, or primer for printing onto media that have traditionally resisted inkjet methods. In any case, the UV-curing ink set adheres to highly diverse materials and does not crack even during trimming. All of this broadens the production portfolio to include numerous attractive applications.
An auxiliary module comprises a set of rollers for paper, fabric, blueprints or other stock up to 2.5 metres wide. Thanks to the universal ink’s high elasticity, appropriate materials may be deformed without stress whitening. The said rollers combined with roller-tables convert the basic model into a large-format automatic printing machine. Helped by an ingenious feed principle, it can produce sizes up to 2.5 — 4 meters – and this with extremely modest space requirements.
Whatever the job in hand, a steplessly adjustable vacuum system retains standard panels just as securely as heat-sensitive substrates and mesh. The anodised printing table can carry media as heavy as 400 kg. In contrast to this weighty muscle, printing is absolute high precision. The intelligent controller positions every droplet with micrometer exactitude – and this at printing speeds that were long considered unachievable by a machine of this class.
